William Council, with Raymond James, Subject of Two Customer Complaints

 

Have you lost money with financial advisor William Council of San Diego, California?  We are investigating allegations made against William M. Council.  According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, Council has been the subject of one customer complaint, alleging claims regarding over-concentration of stocks in one market sector.    Another complaint has recently been filed.  The complaints were lodged against Council’s brokerage firm, Raymond James.

 

William Council has been a financial advisor and registered representative of Raymond James from January 2015 to the present.  Council was also previously with D.A. Davidson from November 2013 to January 2015.  He works at a branch office in California.  Council also recently was the subject of eight financial compromises with various banks.

 

Brokerage firms like Raymond James have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
