Peter Orlando, formerly with MetLife Securities, Barred by FINRA

Have you lost money with financial advisor Peter Orlando of Warwick, Rhode Island?  We are looking into allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Peter Orlando. FINRA barred Orlando from the securities industry regarding allegations that he made an unsuitable recommendation to an elderly customer to liquidate a variable annuity.   His former brokerage firm, MetLife Securities, also found two blank forms signed by the same customer, which generally is not permitted in the industry.

Peter Orlando was a financial advisor and registered representative of MetLife Securities from July 2010 to December 2014.  He was also affiliated with SCF Securities from December 2014 to February 2018.  He worked at a branch office Warwick, Rhode Island.  Orlando also operated Kris Orlando Insurance and Financial Services.

Brokerage firms like MetLife Securities have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
