Have you lost money with financial advisor Gary Forrest of American Portfolios Financial in Flint, Michigan? 

 

The law firm of Israels & Neuman is looking into allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), against Gary Forrest. FINRA suspended Forrest from the securities industry for 10 months and fined him $5,000.  FINRA was investigating Forrest regarding allegations that he sold investments in Woodbridge Mortgage Investment Funds.  The Woodbridge investments went bankrupt, causing severe losses for investors.

 

Gary A. Forrest was a financial advisor and registered representative of American Portfolios Financial Services from  2007 to November 2016.  He worked at offices in Flint, Michigan.  Forrest also was affiliated with Forrest Financial.

 

BROKERAGE FIRMS AND SUPERVISION

 

Brokerage firms like American Portfolios Financial Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
