Timothy Higgins, Formerly of Spartan Capital, Subject of FINRA Complaint

Are you a former client of Timothy Higgins, formerly with Spartan Capital Securities in Garden City, New York?  Our law firm is reviewing allegations made by FINRA against Timothy Patrick Higgins.  FINRA seeks to bar him from the securities brokerage industry because he failed to respond to a FINRA investigation.

FINRA began its investigation into Higgins’s conduct after he was terminated by his former brokerage firm, Spartan Capital Securities. They terminated Higgins in 2020.  FINRA did not specify why he was discharged.

Timothy Higgins had a securities brokerage license with Spartan Capital Securities from April 2015 to July 2020.  He had worked in offices in Garden City, New York.  Higgins had also been the subject of nine customer complaints, and was also the subject of an investigation by Missouri in 2004.

FINRA Rule 8210 mandates that brokers like Timothy Higgins adequately and timely respond to FINRA investigations.  Similarly, FINRA Rule 3110 requires securities brokerage firms to adequately supervise their representatives.  If the firms like Spartan Capital Securities fail to provide sufficient supervision, the firms could be responsible for financial damages.
