Former Investacorp Broker Alan Roof Douglass Subject of Multiple Complaints

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA

Did you lose money investing with financial advisor Alan Roof Douglass, also known as Roof Douglass, formerly with Investacorp and now with Securities America in Clearwater, Florida?  We are reviewing allegations related to several customer complaints that were recently filed in FINRA arbitration against Investacorp regarding Alan Roof Douglass’ conduct.

Since March 2021, Roof Douglass has been the subject of five customer complaints.  Three out of these five customer complaints make allegations of unsuitable recommendations to invest in alternative investments like non-traded REITs (real estate investment trusts) and private placements.  Investacorp already paid $50,000 to settle one case involving real estate investments.  The two other customer complaints involved mutual funds, variable annuities, and stocks.

Roof Douglass was registered with Investacorp from 1995 to July 2020, and he has been with Securities America since July 2020.  He has worked in Clearwater, Florida.  Douglass was also the subject of a 1993 customer complaint.

Investacorp has gone out of business as a FINRA member, but it had obligations to follow FINRA rules while it held its securities brokerage licenses.  Those duties include responsibilities to perform adequate due diligence on products before selling them, to properly supervise their representatives and to make suitable investment recommendations.

Attorney David Neuman is licensed to practice law in Florida.  Our firm currently has a case against Investacorp involving the sale of non-traded REITs.
