 Matthew Barks, Formerly with Park Avenue Securities, Barred from Securities Industry

 Are you a former client of stockbroker Matthew Barks in Paducah, Kentucky? Israels & Neuman is reviewing allegations made against Matthew Barks, who previously worked for Park Avenue Securities.  FINRA’s Disciplinary Database reveals that he failed to respond to an investigation and therefore was expelled from the securities brokerage industry by FINRA.

Barks was fired by Park Avenue Securities in April 2021.   BrokerCheck discloses that he was terminated after several customer signature irregularities were discovered on policy and account documents.  He was also the subject of a February 2021 customer complaint that made such allegations regarding a variable annuity application.  A June 2018 customer complaint also alleged that Barks filled out a fixed life insurance application for a customer and forged her signature.

Matthew G. Barks was an affiliate of Park Avenue Securities from April 2018 to April 2021, and he was also previously with O.N. Equity Sales Company.  He worked in Paducah, Kentucky.

FINRA rules require advisors to respond to FINRA’s investigations.  Likewise, brokerage firms like Park Avenue Securities must reasonably supervise the conduct of its brokers like Matthew Barks.  If it failed to adequately supervise its advisors, the firm could be responsible for financial losses.
