Murat Kartal (Marc Kartal), Formerly of Spartan Capital, Suspended by FINRA

Have you invested money with financial advisor Murat Kartal, formerly with Spartan Capital Securities in New York, New York?  The investment fraud and securities arbitration law firm of Israels & Neuman is reviewing claims made by FINRA against Murat “Marc” Kartal.  FINRA has suspended Kartal from the securities industry for ten months.

According to FINRA’s AWC, Kartal was alleged to have excessively traded an elderly customer’s account between August 2017 and August 2018.  The customer lost nearly $52,000 while Kartal generated over $189,000 in commissions for himself.  The account had a cost-to-equity ratio of 197%; this means that the account needed to generate a return of 197% just to break even from the costs of trading.

Murat Kartal was an affiliate of Spartan Capital Securities from February 2017 to December 2022.  He worked in New York City.
