Nicholas Stovall Resigns from Gradient Securities

ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA

Have you invested with financial advisor Nicholas Stovall from St. Paul and Arden Hills, Minnesota? We are reviewing allegations made against Nicholas Stovall.  According to his BrokerCheck Report (see link below), Mr. Stovall was permitted to resign from Gradient Securities while under an internal investigation.

BrokerCheck discloses that Nicholas Stovall was the subject of an arbitration claim filed in July 2023, alleging the solicitation of unregistered promissory notes.  After Gradient Securities initiated an internal investigation into the allegations surrounding the unregistered promissory notes, Mr. Stovall resigned from the brokerage firm.  He also resigned from Gradient Advisors, an investment advisory firm.  It was alleged that Stovall was under investigation by the Kansas Securities Commission and failed to timely notify Gradient Securities of this investigation.

Between 2009 and July 2023, Nicholas Stovall was licensed through Gradient Securities.  In addition to the July 2023 customer complaint, he was also the subject of a 2018 complaint.  Stovall worked in St. Paul and Arden Hills, Minnesota offices.

Securities brokerage firms are required to have written internal policies which dictate what advisors can and cannot do.  If the advisor or broker fails to follow firm policy, that could lead to discipline against the advisor, including termination.
