Kent Salcedo, formerly of BancWest Investment Services, Suspended by FINRA for Six Months

 

Have you lost money with representative Kent Salcedo of Honolulu, Hawaii?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Kent Salcedo. FINRA alleged that Salcedo forged signatures on a number of customer documents, including suitability forms, account update forms, and mutual fund acknowledgement forms, from December 2012 to July 2015.  FINRA concluded its investigation, and Kent Salcedo consented to a six-month suspension from the securities industry and a deferred fine of $5,000, without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings.

 

Kent Salcedo was a financial advisor and registered representative of BancWest Investment Services from September 2011 to September 2015.  He worked at a branch office in Honolulu, Hawaii.

 

Brokerage firms like BancWest Investment Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
