Purshe Kaplan Sterling Investments, Inc. Settles with FINRA Regarding Failure to Adequately Supervise its Representatives’ Outside Business Activities

 

We are currently investigating allegations made against Purshe Kaplan Sterling Investments, Inc., a Albany, New York-based securities brokerage firm.  FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) brought a regulatory action against Purshe Kaplan Sterling Investments, making numerous allegations regarding its conduct, including: a) failure to supervise its brokers’ outside business activities as required by FINRA Rule 3270; and b) a failure to supervise performance reports used by its representatives in connection with outside brokereage services.

 

FINRA alleged that this conduct took place from January 2011 to January 2016.  To settle these claims, Purshe Kaplan agreed to pay a $200,000 fine.
