Ciro “Nick” Cavazos and Raymond James

Have you lost money with financial advisor Ciro Cavazos of Chico, California?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Ciro “Nick” Cavazos. FINRA suspended Cavazos for three months, fined him $5,000, and ordered him to pay restitution of $7,000 for borrowing $10,000 from a customer and then failing to pay most of the money back.  Cavazos borrowed the money in May 2011 while he was affiliated with Edward Jones.  Cavazos later worked for Raymond James.

Ciro “Nick” Cavazos was a financial advisor and registered representative of Raymond James from July 2011 to March 2016, and with Edward Jones from October 2008 to July 2011.  He worked at a branch office in Chico, California.  Cavazos has also been the subject of two customer complaints.

Brokerage firms like Raymond James have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
