INVESTOR WARNING! James Fonseca from New York, New York
Have you lost money with financial advisor James Fonseca of New York, New York? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against James L. Fonseca. FINRA barred Fonseca from the securities industry after he allegedly commingled a customer’s funds with his own and deposited the customer’s money in a bank account held by Fonseca and his wife, while working with Rothschild Lieberman. He also allegedly failed to respond to a FINRA investigation.
James Fonseca was a financial advisor and registered representative of Rothschild Lieberman from December 2014 to November 2015. He also worked with Meyers Associates from January 2014 to November 2014 and with Legend Securities from November 2013 to December 2013. He worked at a branch office in New York, New York. Fonseca’s BrokerCheck report discloses that he has one customer complaint on his record.
Brokerage firms like Rothschild Lieberman have the responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
