Losses in United Realty Capital Trust, Inc./First Capital Real Estate Trust, Inc.

Have you invested in United Realty Capital Trust, Inc., now known as First Capital Real Estate Trust, Inc.?  We are investigating claims that First Capital Real Estate Trust’s adviser (who runs and operates the investment) notified its employees last week that it may have trouble paying its employees, according to Investmentnews.com.

United Realty Capital Trust was renamed First Capital Real Estate Trust in the Fall of 2015 after United was bought out by First Capital.  United Realty Capital Trust/First Capital Real Estate Trust is a non-traded REIT (real estate investment trust) that invests in rental properties and other real estate holdings.  First Capital Real Estate Trust has not issued any financial statements since June 2015, and it suspended its dividends to investors in November 2016.  People who invested in United Realty Capital Trust/First Capital Real Estate Trust may have suffered substantial losses.

Financial advisors and brokerage firms have a duty to perform adequate due diligence on an investment before recommending such to an investor.  If the advisor fails to do so, they could be liable for investor losses.  We currently represent investors who lost money in other REITs, and we would like to speak with other investors who lost money in United Realty Capital Trust/First Capital Real Estate Trust.
