INVESTOR ALERT! Timothy Van Lohuizen (aka Timothy Vanlohuizen of SagePoint Financial in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

GARY SAITOWITZ FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA

Have you lost money with financial advisor Gary Saitowitz of Ridgeland and Atlanta, Georgia?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Gary Saitowitz. FINRA suspended Saitowitz from the securities industry for eighteen months, fined him $10,000, and ordered him to pay restitution of $11,455 after he allegedly had customers sign blank forms on at least 26 occasions and kept them in his files, in violation of the internal policies of the former firms that he worked for, including TransAmerica Financial Advisors.

He also was alleged to have recommended unsuitable concentrations of non-traded REITs (real estate investment trusts) to his customers.  Saitowitz was also alleged to have failed to timely report three tax liens.

Gary Saitowitz was a financial advisor and registered representative of TransAmerica Financial Advisors from August 2012 to April 2014.  He also worked with IFS Securities from May 2014 to June 2016 and with Kovack Securities from August 2009 to August 2012.  He worked at branch offices in Atlanta, Georgia.  His BrokerCheck report also discloses that he has three customer complaints on his record.

Brokerage firms like TransAmerica Financial Advisors have the responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
