Neal Moon, formerly of Waddell & Reed, Barred from Securities Industry
Have you lost money with financial advisor Neal Moon of Dallas, Texas? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Neal Charles Moon. FINRA barred Moon from the securities industry after he engaged in unauthorized outside business activities and private securities transactions without permission from his brokerage firm, Waddell & Reed.
FINRA alleged that Neal Moon and his wife Natalie Moon, solicited investors of Waddell & Reed to invest in a number of private securities, including BOXX Technologies, Total Operating LLC (an oil company), and Hoffbrau Steaks. Moon never disclosed the investments in BOXX Technologies, Total Operating LLC, and Hoffbrau Steaks to Waddell & Reed. As part of a settlement with FINRA, Neal Moon agreed to be barred from the securities industry.
Neal Moon was a financial advisor and registered representative of Waddell & Reed from October 2009 to October 2015. He worked at a branch office in Dallas, Texas. Moon has been the subject of one customer complaint, and he was terminated by Waddell & Reed for this conduct.
Brokerage firms like Waddell & Reed have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
