Mitchell Behm, from Denver, Colorado, Suspended Seven Months from Securities Industry by FINRA

Have you lost money with financial advisor Mitchell Behm of Denver, Colorado?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Mitchell G. Behm. FINRA recently suspended Mitchell Behm from the securities industry for seven months and fined him $10,000.  FINRA was investigating Behm regarding allegations that he borrowed $180,000 from a customer to purchase a vacation home, in violation of FINRA rules and, likely, the internal policies of his brokerage firm, Edward Jones.  Behm also failed to disclose that he filed for bankruptcy in 2009.

Mitchell Behm was a financial advisor and registered representative of Edward Jones from 2005 to January 2016.  He worked at a branch office in Denver, Colorado.  Behm also has three customer complaints on his BrokerCheck report.

Brokerage firms like Edward Jones have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
