Israels & Neuman, PLC has launched an independent investigation into allegations made by the Securities and Exchange Commission against Ms. Camarco.  Her BrokerCheck report, a publicly available document provided by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) is attached below.  The SEC recently filed a complaint against her that alleges that she misappropriated over $2.8 million dollars from her clients and customers.

 

The Complaint states that she resides in Colorado Springs and did business through a company known as “Camarco Investments, Inc.”  The fraudulent theft scheme alleged in the Complaint was purportedly ongoing from 2004 to 2017 and could have impacted approximately 100 clients and customers.

 

Sonya D. Camarco was a financial advisor, registered representative, and advisory representative of LPL Financial, LLC from February 27, 2004 through August 9, 2017.  Brokerage firms like LPL Financial, LLC have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives and customers experience losses, the firm may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
