Steven Bonner, formerly of Principal Securities, Barred from Securities Industry
Have you lost money with financial advisor Steven Bonner of San Jose, California? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Steven Eugene Bonner. FINRA suspended Bonner from the securities industry after he failed to respond to a FINRA investigation. FINRA was investigating Bonner after he was terminated by his former brokerage firm, Principal Securities. Principal Securities, Bonner, and Bay Area Acquisition and Sales, LLC were named in a complaint alleging that Bonner solicited a customer to invest in a private placement.
Steven Bonner was a financial advisor and registered representative of Principal Securities from March 2010 to February 2017. He worked at a branch office in San Jose, California. He was also affiliated with Allied Financial Network. Bonner previously filed for bankruptcy in 2009. Moreover, Bonner was previously sanctioned by the California Department of Real Estate in 2011.
Brokerage firms like Principal Securities have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
