Have you lost money with financial advisor Brett A. Ashy of MWA Financial and NY Life Securities in Jackson, Mississippi?

We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Brett Alexander Ashy. FINRA barred Ashy from the securities industry after he failed to respond to a FINRA investigation.  FINRA was investigating Ashy for allegations that he made an unauthorized transaction on behalf of a customer.  Ashy was also previously fined $5,000 and suspended 30 days by FINRA in 2016 regarding allegations that he obtained partially completed variable annuity applications from customers.

Brett A. Ashy was a financial advisor and registered representative of MWA Financial Services from October 2015 to February 2016, and with NYLife Securities from January 2011 to September 2014.  He worked at branch offices in Jackson and Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Brokerage firms like MWA Financial Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
