Investigation - Brian Engstrom of Oppenheimer in Tampa, FL

Jeffery Fanning, formerly with Liberty Partners Financial Services, Suspended from Securities Industry for Sixth Months

Have you lost money due to excessive trading or churning at accounts with Liberty Partners Financial Services? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Jeffery Allen Fanning.  FINRA alleged that Fanning failed to reasonably supervise potential excessive trading by other representatives at Liberty Partners Financial Services.

FINRA alleged that accounts with potentially excessive trading or churning were at times not reviewed until several months after the transactions, if at all.  To settle these allegations, Jeffery Fanning agreed to pay a fine of $20,000, a six-month suspension in all capacities, and a twelve-month suspension in a principal capacity.

Jeffery Fanning was a financial advisor and registered representative of Liberty Partners Financial Services from 2004 to March 2017.  He worked in a branch office in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Fanning has been the subject of three other regulatory actions, as well as three customer complaints.  One of those complaints makes allegations regarding former representative Ariel Hernandez.  Hernandez has since been barred from the securities industry.
