INVESTIGATION! Michael Lessard, Southeast Investments, North and South Carolina

Alex Herrera, formerly with UBS Financial Services, Barred from Securities Industry

Have you lost money with financial advisor Alex Herrera of Coral Gables, Florida?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Alex G. Herrera. FINRA barred Herrera from the securities industry after he failed to respond to a FINRA investigation.  FINRA was investigating Herrera regarding allegations that he engaged in outside business activities without disclosing such to his brokerage firm, UBS Financial Services.

Alex Herrera was a financial advisor and registered representative of UBS Financial Services from March 2012 to May 2018.  He worked at a branch office in Coral Gables, Florida.  Herrera also has been the subject of a customer complaint, in which the customer alleges that Herrera used an investor’s funds to purchase a vacation home.

Brokerage firms like UBS Financial Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
