DAVID BECKER of Cetera Advisors Accused of Selling Unsuitable REITs

WATERLOO, IA Have you lost money with financial advisor David M. Becker, formerly with Cetera Advisors and now with Purshe Kaplan Sterling in Waterloo, Iowa? We are looking into allegations made against David Becker, who was recently the subject of a customer complaint. The customer alleged that Becker made unsuitable recommendations to invest in real estate investments.

David Becker was with Cetera Advisors from 2007 to June 2019. Becker was also with Purshe Kaplan Sterling from June 2019 to the present. He has worked at branch offices in Waterloo, Iowa.

Brokerage firms like Cetera Advisors have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
