Hannes was alleged to have stolen about $2.9 million from 19 customers, most of which were also customers of his former brokerage firm, Woodbury Financial. Woodbury has since made the victims whole. The scheme involved investments in purported “bonds”, but the money went to Hannes’ bank accounts.
