Douglas Gow, Formerly with Capital Investment Group, and Now with Dempsey Lord Smith, Subject of GWG Complaint

Did you lose money while investing with financial advisor Douglas W. Gow from Atlanta, Georgia? Our securities arbitration law firm is looking into allegations made against Douglas Gow, who was previously affiliated with Capital Investment Group from September 2010 to February 2017. Gow is now with Dempsey Lord Smith.

FINRA’s BrokerCheck discloses that Douglas Gow was the subject of a customer complaint made in September 2022. The complaint alleges that Gow made an unsuitable recommendation to invest $100,000 in GWG in 2016. The alleged losses from the GWG investment are $60,333.

GWG investments carried significant risk. GWG Holdings filed for bankruptcy protection in April 2022, which likely means that investors will have suffered significant losses in their GWG investments. If a recommendation to invest in GWG L bonds was unsuitable for a customer, then Gow and Capital Investment Group could be responsible for any investor losses.

Douglas Gow had been affiliated with Capital Investment Group before joining Dempsey Lord Smith. Gow worked in offices in Atlanta and Rome, Georgia.
