Former Kestra Advisor David Lentz Subject of Recent Complaint

There have been at least one customer complaint filed against David Lentz since June 2022. According to Lentz’s BrokerCheck report, one case was filed against Lentz, but different sources claim that the losses are either $1.29 million or $2 million. The case was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. The claims allegedly involve recommendations to invest in options, mutual funds, unit investment trusts (UITs), and real estate investments. Lentz’s former firms, including Ameriprise Financial Services, TCA Financial Group, Prospera Financial Services, and Kestra Investment Services were all named as defendants too.

David Lentz had been in the securities brokerage industry between 2003 and October 2020. He was affiliated with Ameriprise Financial Services from 2003 to September 2007; with TCA Financial Group from January 2008 to June 2013; with Prospera Financial from June 2013 to June 2017; and with Kestra Investment Services from June 2017 to October 2020. Lentz worked in offices in Charlotte and Kernersville, North Carolina.

Firms like Kestra and Prospera have obligations to reasonably supervise their advisors per the FINRA Rules. If the firms fail to do so, they could be liable for investment losses.
