Eugene Cebron Thompson, with Capital Investment Group, Subject of GWG Complaint

WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA

FINRA’s BrokerCheck discloses that Eugene Bron Thompson is the subject of a customer complaint involving GWG Holdings. The investment in GWG Holdings was made in February 2021, and the customer invested $130,000 in the GWG product.

GWG Holdings filed for bankruptcy protection in April 2022, which likely means that investors will have suffered significant losses in their GWG investments. The GWG investments carried significant risk. This includes the GWG L bonds and the GWG preferred shares. If a recommendation to invest in GWG L bonds was unsuitable for a customer, then Thompson and Capital Investment Group could be responsible for any investor losses.

Eugene Cebron Thompson also known as Bron Thompson has worked in an office in Wilmington, North Carolina for Capital Investment Group since 2014. Thompson had also been in the securities industry since 2001 and has been the subject of another customer complaint in 2017.
