Pedro Escobar, Formelry with Suntrust, Subject of Complaint Involving GIC

MIAMI, FLORIDA

Are you a current or former customer of advisor Pedro Escobar, who previously worked with Suntrust Investment Services in Miami, Florida? Suntrust Investment Services and Pedro Escobar are the subject of a customer complaint that was filed in November 2022, alleging $500,000 in damages.

According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, the customer complaint was filed around November 11, 2022. The allegations are related to a purportedly unsuitable recommendation to invest in guaranteed investment contracts (or GICs). The recommendation was likely made while Escobar worked for Suntrust Investment Services, where Escobar worked from October 2010 to April 2014. Escobar also worked for Wells Fargo and Ameriprise Financial Services in Miami and Davie, Florida.

Suntrust Investment Services is a FINRA member firm and has obligations to perform due diligence on any products that it sells. If the investment was not properly vetted and caused investor losses, Suntrust Investment Services could be liable for customer losses.
