COMPLAINTS Against VALENTINO SCOTT of Centaurus Financial
Valentino Scott, with Centaurus Financial, Subject of Numerous Customer Complaints
WEST HILLS, CALIFORNIA
Are you a current or former customer of financial advisor Valentino Scott from West Hills, California? Israels & Neuman is reviewing allegations made against Valentino Scott, who has worked with Centaurus Financial since 1995. FINRA’s BrokerCheck reveals that he has been the subject of seven customer complaints, two of which have been made since 2020. The two recent complaints make allegations regarding real estate investments.
In addition, documents filed with the GWG Holdings bankruptcy indicate that Valentino Scott and his brokerage firm, Centaurus Financial, sold GWG investments to a number of their clients. GWG Holdings filed for bankruptcy earlier this year. It is believed that investors who held GWG investments, such as the GWG L Bonds, will likely suffer substantial losses.
Valentino Scott worked in an office in West Hills, California while working for Centaurus Financial from 1995 to the present. He was also discharged by another brokerage firm in 1988.
As an associated person of a FINRA member, Valentino Scott has an obligation to abide by FINRA Rules. As an example, FINRA Rule 2111 provides that financial advisors’ recommendations to their customers must be suitable in light of the investors’ age, risk tolerance, investment objectives, and other factors. A failure to make suitable recommendations could result in financial liability for the advisor and/or brokerage firm.
