Maxim Tulupnikoff, with David Lerner Associates, Under Investigation by FINRA
WESTPORT, CONNECTICUT
Are you a former or current client of Maxim Tulupnikoff? The investment fraud and securities arbitration law firm of Israels & Neuman is reviewing allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) against Maxim Tulupnikoff, who worked in Westport, Connecticut. Tulupnikoff is under investigation by FINRA.
According to Tulupnikoff’s BrokerCheck report, FINRA is investigating whether he violated FINRA Rules 2111 (regarding suitability) and 2010 (high standards of commercial honor). In particular, FINRA is looking into whether Tulupnikoff “recommended certain investments to customers without a reasonable basis to believe the investments were suitable for those customers based on their investment profiles”. FINRA did not specify what products were at issue.
From 2013 to the present, Maxim Tulupnikoff has been licensed with David Lerner Associates in a Westport, Connecticut office. Tulupnikoff also is an investment advisory representative with Spirit of America Management Corp. He was also the subject of a 2016 customer complaint, alleging losses in Energy 11 Oil and Gas investments.
David Lerner Associates is a FINRA member and must adequately supervise their advisors to ensure that they comply with FINRA rules, including suitability obligations under FINRA Rule 2111. If the advisor and/or brokerage firm fail in this regard, they can be responsible for investors’ damages.
