Former Morgan Stanley Rep, Nikolay Zotenko, Suspended For One Year

FINRA’s AWC against Nikolay Zotenko alleged that Zotenko sent communications to over 1,150 potential investors about a private placement opportunity. The communications allegedly violated FINRA’s communication standards by containing misleading and unwarranted statements. To settle these allegations, Zotenko agreed to a one-year suspension with FINRA and a $10,000 fine.
Nikolay Zotenko was a representative with Morgan Stanley from August 2015 to April 2021, when he was terminated by Morgan Stanley. Zotenko worked at an office in Beverly Hills, California. Zotenko is now affiliated with UrDoc.
Morgan Stanley and its representatives must follow FINRA rules. They have obligations to follow FINRA’s communication rules, including FINRA Rule 2210. If Morgan Stanley or its representatives fail to follow 2210, they can be liable for investor losses stemming from any violative communications.
