Ronald Walchack, Formerly with Ameriprise Financial Services, Barred by FINRA

In June 2021, Walchack was fired by Ameriprise Financial Advisors, which led to FINRA’s investigation. Walchack was terminated surrounding allegations that he violated company policies related to investment recommendations, mismarking of trade tickets, and exercising discretion in non-discretionary accounts.

Ronald Walchack had been licensed with Ameriprise Financial Services from May 2012 to July 2021. He had been in the securities industry since 1982. Walchack worked in a Sewickley, Pennsylvania office. Walchack had also been the subject of three customer complaints.

Since Ronald Walchack was associated with a FINRA member, he was obligated to follow FINRA rules. This included a requirement to respond to FINRA investigations per Rule 8210. FINRA Rule 3110 also mandates that securities firms sufficiently supervise their representatives. Firms like Ameriprise Financial Services can be liable to investors for damages if they fail to reasonably supervise their representatives.
