Have you invested with former Ameriprise financial advisor Shawn Parker of Schaumburg, Illinois? Our investment fraud law firm is reviewing allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Shawn Parker. In April 2022, FINRA barred Parker from the securities industry regarding allegations that she falsified invoices that overstated reimbursement of expenses. FINRA alleged that Parker converted at least $25,000 from Ameriprise Financial Services regarding the overstated invoices.

Parker has also been the subject of at least eight customer complaints, at least three of which have been made within the last two years. One 2021 complaint alleged misrepresentations in connection with the sale of a variable annuity, and two others complaints (one in 2020, and one in 2021) allege unsuitable investments in real estate investment trusts (REITs) and business development companies (BDCs).

Shawn E. Parker was “permitted to resign” by Ameriprise Financial Services in June 2020 regarding the expense reimbursement issue. Parker started with Ameriprise in 1987 and worked at an office in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Ms. Parker was a representative of Ameriprise, which is a FINRA member. As such, she must follow all FINRA rules, including making suitable investment recommendations to customers. If the investments are unsuitable, then Parker and/or Ameriprise could be responsible for customer losses.
