UBS Advisor GERMAN NINO Criminally Charged with FRAUD

German Nino is a former financial advisor with UBS Financial Services. On January 24, 2022, German Nino was charged with defrauding over $5 million from customers while working at a UBS branch office in Miami, Florida. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida announced the criminal charges after Nino made his initial court appearance. It was alleged that Nino made over 60 unauthorized transfers between May 2014 and February 2020 from his customers’ accounts.

German Nino had worked with UBS Financial Services from July 2012 to August 2020. He worked with a number of other firms prior to joining UBS. His office was in Coral Gables, Florida, and Nino has been the subject of at least one customer complaint (see BrokerCheck Report Below).

While Nino was affiliated with UBS Financial Services, the firm had an obligation to adequately supervise his conduct. If UBS Financial Services did not adequately monitor his conduct, it could be liable to those who lost money because of Nino’s conduct.
