INVESTOR ALERT! John Buck

Brad Lawing from Springfield, Missouri Suspended by FINRA

Have you lost money with financial advisor, Brad Lawing from Springfield, Missouri?  We are currently investigating allegations made against Brad C. Lawing, who previously worked with Cambridge Investment Research.  FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) brought a regulatory action against Mr. Lawing, alleging that he recommended that his customers invest in business development companies (or BCDs).

FINRA alleged that between December 2014 and January 2015, Brad Lawing recommended that three of his clients invest in BDCs, which FINRA considers to be illiquid and relatively risky.  FINRA alleged that the recommendation to invest in this business development company was not suitable for those clients.  Lawing was also alleged to have shared customer information with a non-registered person.  To settle these allegations, Lawing agreed to a five-month suspension from the securities industry, a fine of $10,000, and restitution of $11,754.

Brad Lawing was a registered representative and financial advisor of Cambridge Investment Research from July 2010 to August 2017.  Lawing previously worked at branch offices in Springfield, Missouri and Overland Park, Kansas.  Lawing has also been the subject of at least 11 customer complaints.
