Carol Holesha, formerly with LPL Financial, Suspended Five Months from Securities Industry

 

Have you lost money with financial advisor Carol Holesha of Chicago, Illinois?  We are investigating allegations made by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) against Carol Ann Holesha.  Holesha was suspended from the securities industry for five months regarding allegations that she borrowed $125,000 from a customer and did not disclose such to her former brokerage firm, LPL Financial.  Financial advisors generally cannot borrow money from customers, except in limited circumstances.

 

Carol Holesha was a financial advisor and registered representative of LPL Financial from 2009 to August 2018.  She worked at a branch office in Chicago, Illinois.  Holesha was also terminated by LPL Financial for this conduct.

 

Brokerage firms like LPL Financial have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
