Customer Makes Complaint to Dalmore Group Over Lack of Cybersecurity
WOODMERE, NEW YORK
Are you a customer of the Dalmore Group, a brokerage firm based in Woodmere, New York? FINRA’s BrokerCheck reveals that a customer is making a complaint to Dalmore Group regarding issues with cybersecurity.
In particular, the customer alleges that Dalmore Group failed to prevent one or more criminals from accessing its email system. Money was wired from a customer’s account to a third party, and the third party was alleged to have stolen the money via a fraudulent account in an alleged EB-5 investment. The customer alleges losses of $850,000 related to this cybersecurity failure.
Dalmore Group is a FINRA member firm and is based in Woodmere, New York. It must make reasonable steps to protect its customers from intrusions like this.
