Have you lost money with financial advisor Corey Mireau of Eden Prairie, Minnesota?
We are looking into allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), against Corey Lee Mireau. FINRA suspended Mireau from the securities industry for two years and fined him $15,000. FINRA was investigating Mireau regarding allegations that he borrowed money from two customers, which generally is not allowed in the securities industry, with a few limited exceptions.
He failed to pay one of the loans back, and he also failed to notify his former brokerage firm, Ameriprise Financial Services, of the loans. Mireau was alleged to have borrowed the money to invest in Vapor Distribution, Inc., a purported vaping supplier.
Corey Mireau was a financial advisor and registered representative of Ameriprise Financial Services from 1998 to September 2017. He worked at offices in Eden Prairie and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mireau also had three tax liens filed against him.
Brokerage firms like Ameriprise Financial Servicess have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.
