Damon Walker from Solon, Iowa Subject of Iowa Insurance Commissioner Complaint

Have you lost money with financial advisor Damon Walker of Solon, Iowa?  We are investigating allegations made by Iowa Insurance Division against Damon Allan Walker. Iowa alleged that Walker made unsuitable investment recommendations when he recommended Oppenheimer Steelpath mutual funds to a customer.

Iowa alleged that Damon Walker recommended the Steelpath mutual funds, which are concentrated in energy (typically oil and gas) infrastructure with an emphasis on master limited partnerships (MLPs).  Iowa alleged that these funds may have additional risks because of the use of MLPs.  To settle these allegations, Walker paid $7,000 in restitution to the customer.

Damon Walker is a financial advisor and registered representative of Cambridge Investment Research from August 2010 to the present.  He worked at a branch office in Fairfield, Iowa.  Walker has also been the subject of at least two customer complaints.

Brokerage firms like Cambridge Investment Research have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
