David Antypas, formerly with LPL Financial, Suspended Two Years from Securities Industry
Have you lost money with financial advisor David Antypas of Brentwood, Tennessee? The law firm of Israels & Neuman is investigating allegations made by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) against David Philip Antypas. Antypas was suspended from the securities industry for two years regarding allegations that convinced his elderly customer to name Antypas’ wife and sister as beneficiaries of the customer’s accounts. It was further alleged that Antypas did this without disclosing such to his former brokerage firm, LPL Financial.
David Antypas was a financial advisor and registered representative of LPL Financial from 2008 to December 2017. He was also affiliated with Sandlapper Securities, CFD Investments, and IFS Securities. He worked at a branch office in Brentwood, Tennessee. Antypas was also terminated by LPL Financial for this conduct.
Brokerage firms like LPL Financial have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
