David Morris, Formerly with Stifel Nicolaus & Company, Suspended by FINRA

David Morris was indefinitely suspended by FINRA in February 2023 because Morris did not respond to a FINRA investigation.
According to Morris’ record on BrokerCheck, FINRA began its suspension on February 24, 2023 when Morris did not respond to FINRA requests for information. Morris was also the subject of a customer complaint filed in September 2022, in which a customer alleged that Morris’ negligence and breach of fiduciary duty caused $480,000 in investment losses.
David Morris had been licensed with Stifel Nicolaus & Company from August 2016 to May 2022. He previously worked for UBS Financial Services. He worked in offices in Chicago, Illinois. Morris has been the subject of three customer complaints since 2003, and he also is the subject of a $138,000 judgment.
David Morris was a licensed financial advisor and therefore had obligations to respond to FINRA investigations pursuant to FINRA Rule 8210. Securities firms like Stifel Nicolaus & Company also must adequately monitor their representatives. If a firm like Stifel Nicolaus & Company fails to provide reasonable supervision, the brokerage firm could be responsible for financial damages.
