Have you lost money with financial advisor Diane Maddox of Investors Capital and Cetera Advisors? 

 

We are investigating allegations made against Diane Maddox of Derry and Salem, New Hampshire, who was recently the subject of a complaint made by the New Hampshire Securities Bureau.  New Hampshire alleged that Maddox recommended that a couple purchase an investment in an “alternative investment” in 2013, and that she failed to update a suitability form to properly effect the transaction.  The complaint also references United Development Funding IV (UDF) as part of the settlement.  Maddox was ordered to pay a settlement to the couple, along with $10,000 in investigation costs.

 

Diane Marie Maddox was a financial advisor and registered representative of Investors Capital Corp. from November 2012 to October 2016.  She worked at branch offices in Derry and Salem, New Hampshire.  Maddox also is affiliated with Cetera Advisors from October 2016 to the present.  Maddox has been the subject of two customer complaints, and she also has had two tax liens, one of which was over $165,000.

 

Brokerage firms like Investors Capital Corp. have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
