Doron Kochavi with Western International Securities, Suspended by FINRA

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA     Have you been a client of financial advisor Doron Kochavi, formerly with Western International Securities in Pasadena, California?  Our securities arbitration firm is looking into allegations made by FINRA against Doron Kochavi.  He was recently suspended by FINRA for two months and fined $10,000.

FINRA alleges that Doron Kochavi mismarked trade tickets as being “unsolicited”, meaning the client called the broker to make a specific trade, but in reality the trades were “solicited” (recommended by the broker).  Kochavi was alleged to have done this over 1,500 times between January 2017 and April 2019.  Moreover, he was fired by J.P. Morgan in 2012 for allegedly making unauthorized trades in customers’ accounts.

Between October 2015 and January 2024, Doron Kochavi was a representative of Western International Securities and worked in Western International Securities’s Pasadena, California office.  He has been the subject of six customer complaints.  One of those customer complaints was filed in 2019 and eventually settled for $2.8 million.

Brokerage firms like Western International Securities must adequately supervise their advisors.  The advisors also have an obligation to follow FINRA rules and must get prior written permission to engage in trading without obtaining a customer’s authority first.
