Michael Bastardi, formerly with Securities America and National Securities Corp., Barred from Securities Industry

Have you lost money with financial advisor Michael Bastardi of Warwick, New York? 

We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Michael Bastardi. FINRA barred Bastardi from the securities industry after he failed to respond to a FINRA investigation.  FINRA was investigating Bastardi after he was the subject of a customer complaint.  The customer alleged that Bastardi engaged in unsuitable margin trading, unauthorized trading, fraud, and forgery.

Michael Anthony Bastardi was a financial advisor and registered representative of Securities America from June 2014 to March 2016.  He was also affiliated with Dalton Strategic Investment Services from October 2012 to July 2014; with National Securities Corp. from March 2016 to January 2018; and with Chelsea Financial Services from January 2018 to September 2018.  He worked at branch offices in Warwick, Mahopac, and Staten Island, New York.  He also has been the subject of two customer complaints.

Brokerage firms like Securities America and National Securities Corp. have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
