Vincent Camarda and James McArthur Charged with Civil Fraud by SEC over Par Funding

MASSAPEQUA, NEW YORK

Did you invest in Complete Business Solutions Group, doing business as Par Funding?  The Securities and Exchange Commission recently filed a civil complaint against Vincent Camarda (formerly with LPL Financial) and James McArthur for their role in selling promissory notes in Par Funding.  According to the SEC’s complaint, Vincent Camarda and James McArthur sold more than $75 million in promissory notes in Par Funding through their own advisory firm, A.G. Morgan Financial Advisors.

The SEC alleged that investments in Complete Business Solutions Group, a/k/a Par Funding, were unregistered securities.  These Investments in were, at best, high risk; they potentially could be fraudulent as well.  A receivership has been established for Par Funding after it was accused of fraud by the SEC in July 2020.  There are dozens of entities that are included in the receivership.

Vincent Camarda has had numerous affiliations with his securities licenses.  Camarda is an owner of A.G. Morgan Financial Advisors, but he also has been affiliated with LPL Financial, American Portfolios Financial Services, American Portfolios Advisors, and Traderfield Securities.  James McArthur had also previously been affiliated with LPL Financial, American Portfolios Financial Services, American Portfolios Advisors, and Traderfield Securities.  Camarda and McArthur worked in offices in Massapequa, New York.

Securities brokerage firms and investment advisory firms have duties to reasonably supervise their representatives like Vincent Camarda and James McArthur.  If the firms fail to do so, they could be liable for financial losses suffered by their clients.
