WARNING! Gregory R. Bauer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Have you lost money with financial advisor Gregory Bauer of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Gregory R. Bauer. FINRA barred Bauer from the securities industry regarding allegations that he stole money from his parents’ account while he was affiliated with Waddell & Reed. According to the allegations, from 2004 to 2013, Gregory Bauer forged withdrawal requests for his parents’ accounts. He then intercepted the checks that were mailed to his parents’ home, would cash the checks, and then use the money for himself. It was alleged that Bauer stole over $400,000.
Gregory Bauer is a financial advisor and registered representative of Waddell & Reed from October 2004 to October 2013. He also was affiliated with H. Beck, Inc. from October 2013 to September 2016. He worked at branch offices in Pittsburgh and Moon Township, Pennsylvania. Bauer was fired for the same conduct.
Brokerage firms like Waddell & Reed have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
