Israels & Neuman, PLC Investigates Abraham Heimann, Formerly of Oppenheimer & Co. and Cetera Advisors
Have you lost money with financial advisor Abraham Heimann (CRD# 1315922), formerly of Oppenheimer & Co. and Cetera Advisors, in Alpharetta and Atlanta, Georgia? We are investigating allegations of former customers related to Abraham Heimann. Abraham Heimann’s CRD report, a public record maintained by FINRA, states that Heimann has been the subject of four customer complaints while he was affiliated with Oppenheimer & Co. and Cetera Advisors.
Specifically, Abraham Heimann’s CRD contains the following allegations:
- One former client alleged $1,500,000 in damages regarding lack of diversification in common and preferred stocks;
- Another former client alleged $30,000 in damages claiming breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, and a failure to diversify a portfolio related to stocks;
- Another client alleged $2,000,000 in damages related to recommendations to invest in oil and gas stocks;
- A fourth client alleged $876,195 in damages related to recommendations to invest in oil, gas, and energy stocks;
Abraham Heimann was a registered representative of Oppenheimer & Co. from 2002 to July 2013. He also worked with Cetera Advisors from July 2013 to February 2016. He has worked at branch offices in Alpharetta and Atlanta, Georgia. Heimann also operated a firm called Alpha Global Investments.
Brokerage firms like Oppenheimer & Co. and Cetera Advisors have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
