Ernest Romer III, formerly of Corecap Investments, Barred from Securities Industry

 

Have you lost money with financial advisor Ernest Romer of Sterling Heights and Shelby Township, Michigan?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Ernest J. Romer III. FINRA barred Romer from the securities industry after he failed to respond to a FINRA investigation.  FINRA was investigating Romer after he was terminated by his brokerage firm, Corecap Investments, for allegedly engaging in undisclosed outside business activities.

 

Ernest Romer was a financial advisor and registered representative of Corecap Investments from October 2012 to January 2017.  He was also affiliated with L.M. Kohn & Company from July 2012 to October 2012.   He worked at branch offices in Sterling Heights, Michigan.  Romer also has had his securities license revoked by Michigan, according to clickondetroit.com.  Romer was also fired by Corecap Investments, and he has been the subject of at least 5 customer complaints.

 

Brokerage firms like Corecap Investments and L.M. Kohn & Company have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
