INVESTOR ALERT! Kimberly Kitts

JAMES CALDER AND LIFE PARTNERS, INC.

Have you lost money with financial advisor James Calder in Life Partners, Inc.?  We are continuing our investigation into allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) against James D. Calder II.  FINRA alleged that Calder had sold investments in Life Partners, Inc., a purported life settlement firm, during 2010.  It was further alleged that Calder failed to disclose these sales his brokerage firm, Raymond James Financial Services, and that Raymond James previously denied his request to sell Life Partners investments.

Life Partners, Inc. has been called “one of the largest frauds in Texas” by the Trustee overseeing Life Partners, Inc.’s bankruptcy, according to a Wall Street Journal article.  Life Partners, Inc. filed for bankruptcy in January 2015, and it is uncertain whether investors will get their money back.

James Calder agreed to settle the claims with FINRA.  He agreed to pay a $15,000 fine and to a six-month suspension from the securities industry.

James Calder was a registered representative and advisor with Raymond James Financial Services from 2002 to March 2016.  He was assigned to a branch office in Borger, Texas.  Calder has been the subject of one complaint alleging losses related to Life Partners.
