Jon VanSlooten, formerly of Edward Jones, Suspended from Securities Industry for Three Months
Have you lost money with financial advisor Jon VanSlooten of Toledo, Ohio? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Jon Timothy VanSlooten. FINRA suspended VanSlooten from the securities industry for three months and fined him $7,500 after he was alleged to have engaged in unauthorized trading or discretionary trading in four customer accounts on over 500 transactions between 2009 and 2016.
Jon VanSlooten was a financial advisor and registered representative of Edward Jones from September 2008 to February 2016. He worked at a branch office in Toledo, Ohio. VanSlooten is now registered with Kingsview Asset Management.
Brokerage firms like Edward Jones have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
