Jess Roberts from Ellensburg, Washington Suspended Three Months From Securities Industry
Have you lost money with financial advisor Jess Roberts of Ellensburg, Washington? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), against Jess Elliott Roberts. FINRA suspended Jess Roberts from the securities industry for three months and fined him $10,000 regarding allegations that he borrowed money from an elderly customer of his former brokerage firm, Foresters Financial Services, without disclosing such to the firm first. It is generally a violation of securities industry rules and internal policies of many brokerage firms, like Foresters Financial Services, to borrow money from customers.
Jess Roberts was a financial advisor and registered representative of Foresters Financial Services from October 2015 to June 2017. He worked at branch offices in Ellensburg and Seattle, Washington. Roberts was also allowed to “voluntarily resign” from Foresters Financial Services.
Brokerage firms like Foresters Financial Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
